A benefit for Kansas University’s band program will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Lied Center.

Band Spectacular! will feature Steve Houghton, an internationally renowned jazz drummer, percussionist, band leader, author and educator, who will perform solos with the Wind Ensemble, the Jazz Ensemble I and the KU Athletic Bands.

Band Spectacular! also promises solo performances by music professors Vince Gnojek and Steve Leisring, and the show will conclude with a performance by the Marching Jayhawks.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens, and are available by calling the Lied Center Box Office at 864-2787.
