Gizmo great for weather

Anyone who ever has been caught in a storm on a lake or out hiking knows how frustrating and dangerous it can be when you’re caught off guard by the weather.

Sure, you can check ahead of time, but we all know how accurate weather forecasts can be, even just a day ahead of your trip.

Now you can keep track of the weather while it’s happening with a device that fits in the palm of your hand.

Garmin’s new GPSMAP 376C combines the typical functions you’d expect from a mobile GPS system – chart plotting, point-by-point auto directions, backcountry trails – with current weather conditions.

And as an added bonus, you can pick up more than 150 channels of satellite radio on it.

The 376C isn’t cheap at $999, but it might be worth the cost for the peace of mind it’ll give you on your next hike or sail.
