Former mobster to speak at church

A former Soviet mobster will be the featured speaker at this year’s Night of Heroes event for junior high and high schoolers.

The event will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Morning Star Church, 998 N. 1771 Road.

The speaker, Victor Isajev, served three years in the Special Forces of the Soviet Army before leaving for a life of organized crime, serving as a hit man for the Russian mafia. He eventually served two years in prison in Latvia.

Isajev will discuss his relationship with God, which began in 1992.
