Baker to play champs

? Baker University, winner of three of its past five games, will end its football season today against Lindenwood.

Kickoff for the Heart of America Athletic Conference contest will be 1:30 p.m. at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo.

Baker (3-7 overall, 3-6 HAAC) is coming off a 28-17 victory over Culver-Stockton. Jeremiah Gress, a senior linebacker from Free State High, recorded a school-record 25 tackles in that victory. He is tied for the HAAC lead with 91 stops.

Baker’s Ryan Smith, a sophomore from Atlanta, leads the HAAC in punting with a 40.8 average.

Lindenwood (6-4, 6-3) is led by senior tailback De De Dorsey, the HAAC leader in rushing with 1,441 yards and in touchdowns with 13.

The defending HAAC champion Lions have won four in a row since a 2-4 start. Lindenwood is coming off a 37-0 shutout of Avila. The Lions won last year’s meeting, 35-21.
