Alice Johnson, formerly of Lawrence, will celebrate her 100th birthday on Nov. 19. Johnson owned Johnson Press Shop and Stork Haven. She later sold real estate. Friends and family are having a card shower for her. Her address is 3601 Jackie Lane, Shingle Springs, CA 95682.
¢ Kevin and Jennifer Stewart, Lawrence, announce the birth of their daughter, Emersen “Emme” Kate Stewart, born Oct. 10, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She has a brother, Cameron, 3.
Maternal grandparents are Mary Winters, Lawrence, and the late Harry Winters Jr. Paternal grandparents are Richard and Mary Stewart, Lawrence.
¢ John and Karen Ledom, Lawrence, announce the birth of their daughter, Margaret Mary Ledom, born Sept. 19, 2005, at Menorah Medical Center in Olathe. She has two sisters, Shelby, 16, and Bethany, 7.
Maternal grandparents are Harley and Shirley Gibson, Garnett. Paternal grandparents are Chuck and Mary Ledom, Lawrence. Great-grandparents are the late Margaret Mary and Harley Gibson Sr., Esther and Orville Burroughs, Charlotte and Albert Sommer and Hazel and Raymond Ledom.
¢ The Kansas Herpetological Society had its 32nd annual meeting Nov. 4-6 at Pittsburg State University. During its business meeting, Ginny Weatherman, Lawrence, was chosen president-elect.
The 2005 Alan H. Kamb Grant for Research on Kansas Snakes was given to George Pisani, of Kansas Biological Survey, Lawrence.
