“I’m going to go look for that immunity idol,” Jayhawk Danni Boatwright said, resorting to one of the few strategies she had left to avoid elimination.

“I’m just praying maybe the Lord will lead me to it.”

Although part of the unified, nine-member Xhakum camp, old alliances put her and players Bobby Jon and Gary at a disadvantage.

At the first reward challenge the contestants were asked to use an indigenous Mayan weapon to hurl an arrow at a target. The ones closest to the target would win a steak and lobster meal. Those progressively farther away from the target would earn an increasingly less impressive food reward.

Danni placed third and got to wolf down a plate of spaghetti. Judd won the top prize, which also came with an open bar. He overindulged in beer and vodka and proceeded to throw up in the group’s communal shelter.

But he additionally received a clue that revealed the mini immunity idol would not be found on the ground or buried.

During an immunity challenge designed to “test coordination and balance,” Danni proved her modeling skills obviously didn’t involve walking many runways. She was immediately eliminated from a balance-beam style contest.

Jamie’s day gig as a water ski instructor helped him keep upright and he took home individual immunity for the evening.

Prior to tribal council, Gary sneakily spied on Judd looking in the trees for the idol and decided to follow that tactic.

At tribal council, Danni confessed, “I’m worried because of the numbers game, and I don’t think I can trust anybody at this point.”

The plans of the “magical six” to vote Gary off were thrown in disarray when he produced the immunity idol that he had evidently found hidden in a tree.

The result of his good fortune meant bad news for Bobby Jon, who was voted out. But as the 10th person ousted, he became the first member of the jury.
