Journalist to speak about death penalty

Native Kansan and journalist Bill Kurtis will be the keynote speaker at the Kansas Coalition Against the Death Penalty meeting on Friday.

It will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Washburn University’s Bradbury Thompson Center in Topeka. Kurtis will talk about what he has learned about the death penalty.

Kurtis has been involved with several television shows and documentaries, including “Cold Case Files” and “American Justice.”

He also authored a book on the death penalty titled “The Death Penalty on Trial: Crisis in American Justice.”
