Old home town – 100 years ago today

From the Lawrence Daily World for Nov. 7, 1905: “The city council is still trying to decide the best way to provide lighting for important parts of town that now lack them. : People of Lawrence have reason to feel proud of their lawyers. They have not taken whisky cases and will not. Those who have handled such cases before have decided not to do so anymore. : The university is advertising pictures that tell a story. That’s nothing. Every photographer in this town has pictures that do the same. Some homely girls are even made handsome. : A local man dropped his gun on the floor and it discharged and hurt him. Lawrence is an entirely agreeable town and there is no necessity for toting guns.”
