“We have a warm and windy day in the forecast,” says Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist.

“Our temperatures will soar into the low 80s,” Schack said. And winds will be streaming in from the south at 12 to 20 mph, gusting as high as 30 mph, she said.

At 8:30 a.m., Lawrence’s temperature was 58 degrees, the humidity was 40 percent and winds were from the south at 12 mph.

Today’s late afternoon high will top out at 80 degrees, which is 20 degrees above the average high temperature for this date of 60 degrees.

“It’s very unseasonable for this time of year,” Schack said. The last time the temperature reached 80 degrees in November was in 2001, Schack said. The record high for this date was 84 degrees, set in 1924.

Overnight, Lawrence’s temperature will drop off to a low of 49 degrees by early Friday morning. Winds will be from the south at 5 to 15 mph.

The high temperature for Friday will be 70 degrees, with partly cloudy skies and northeast winds at 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday’s morning low will be 46 degrees, with the high reaching 66 degrees, with partly cloudy skies and winds from the north around 5 mph.
