Louisburg topples Eudora

? A disastrous fourth quarter ended Eudora High’s run in the Class 4A state football playoffs.

The Cardinals surrendered 29 points in the fourth quarter of their 44-30 loss Tuesday to Louisburg.

Louisburg outscored EHS, 37-14, after halftime.

Louisburg gained 403 of its 438 total yards in the second half. Held to 46 yards rushing on 14 carries in the first half, LHS ran for 214 in the second half. Eudora rushed for just 17 yards after the break.

“I don’t know what happened in the second half,” Eudora coach Gregg Webb said. “Our defense got tired. Giving up 37 points is just inexcusable.”

Kyle Brouhard completed 15 of 28 passes for 265 yards with two touchdowns for the Cardinals. Mark Abel was Eudora’s top pass-catcher with five for 128 yards, and Rodney Spillman had six catches for 87 yards.

Eudora ended its season with an 8-2 record.
