Sunny start to November
The first morning of November brought below-freezing temperatures to Lawrence. But the afternoon promises lots of sunlight to filter through the colorful fall foliage.
“Our temperatures today will be heading above average. We’ll climb into the upper 60s,” said Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist. “It looks like a great day in the forecast.”
At 7:45 a.m., Lawrence’s temperature was 30 degrees, the humidity was 92 percent and winds were calm. Skies were mostly sunny across the area.
“We have seen some evidence of patchy fog and some frost. Be sure to make time to scrape the windshield,” Schack said.
Today’s high is expected to reach 68 degrees, with clear skies throughout the evening, she said. With last weekend’s return to standard time, sunset will be at 5:20 p.m. today.
Wednesday’s morning temperature won’t be as cold as today’s. Around sunrise on Wednesday, the low will drop to 42.
Wednesday’s skies will continue to be clear, with the high reaching 75 on Wednesday afternoon, Schack said
She said the warming trend continues on Thursday, with the morning low starting at 50 degrees and climbing to a high of 77 by Thursday afternoon. Skies will be mostly sunny.
