Soak up the sun this morning, says Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist. Because we could get some cloudy and wet weather this evening, overnight and into Wednesday morning.

“Enjoy the sunshine, because more clouds are in the forecast for this afternoon,” Schack said. “I think by this evening, we have a chance for activity.”

At 7:30 a.m., the temperature was 63 degrees, with easterly 6-mph winds.

This afternoon, clouds will thicken up, with the high reaching 80, Schack said.

There is a chance for scattered shower and thunderstorms to develop this afternoon and evening. Most of the activity will be in central Kansas, she said. The best chance for showers and thunderstorms for northeast Kansas will be overnight, into Wednesday morning, she said.

Wednesday’s morning low will be 61. Schack said Lawrence will have storms to start the day, but showers and thunderstorms should end by the afternoon. Wednesday’s high will be 75.

Thursday’s morning low will be 59, with Thursday’s high climbing to 86 under partly cloudy skies.
