Camara wins Infiniti Pro race
Indianapolis ? Jaime Camara still needs work on that celebration spin.
Camara started from the pole and won a last-lap shootout for his first Infiniti Pro Series victory on Friday.
Then, smoking his tires in front of the grandstand along the main straightaway, he put the car into a spin and inadvertently backed into the inside wall.
“I was a little fast to do that and I made a mistake,” he said, laughing. “I wanted to do a doughnut, but I had too much speed and I crashed into the wall.”
The victory burnout, which slightly damaged a side wing and wishbone in the suspension, was the only bobble for the 24-year-old Brazilian, who led 33 of the 40 laps in the Freedom 100 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
