¢ Force U-13 Makes History: Kaw Valley Force U-13 White boys soccer won the Heartland League spring Division One championship with a 7-1 record – the first time a Lawrence boys soccer team has won a Division One Heartland title. Team members are Robert Abondano, Gabe Ballard-Hanson, Mason Bertrand, Hunter Blair, Will Burg, Daniel Chance, Tor Fornelli, Kendall Gooden, Bobby Hall, Aaron Johnson, Tony Libeer, Will Libeer, Ryan Marienau, John Mehl, Ethan Morton-Gaught, Derek Roush and Logan Sloan. The coach is Mauro Nobre.

¢ Undefeated Champs: Kaw Valley Force U-10 Girls Premier soccer team went 8-0-0 and won the Heartland League spring title. Team members are Alexa Harmon-Thomas, Kasey Olsowsky, Olivia Hodison, Madeline Caywood, Logan Brown, Molly Ryan, Anna Kleibohmer, Maren Kahler, Haley Johnson and Rachel Nincehelser. Riny de Boer and Roland de Boer are the coaches.

¢ Baseball Camp: Five Tool Baseball School is taking registrations for its June 6-9 summer camp for youths ages 6-16. For information, e-mail Lee Ice at ice@sunflower.com.

¢ KU Soccer Camps: Kansas University soccer coach Mark Francis and his staff will be conducting four camps this summer. The first is for youths in kindergarten through fifth grade and will run Tuesday through Friday. ¢ Free State Soccer Camps: Free State High soccer coach Jason Pendleton is offering a camp for boys in grades 9-12 on Tuesday through Friday and for youths in grades 3-8 on June 6-10. For information, call 218-5554.

¢ KSA Tryouts, Coaching Course: Kansas Soccer Academy is holding premier level tryouts for ages U-10 to U18 teams on June 15-17. ¢ Sidewinders Third: Lawrence Sidewinders U-14 girls softball finished 5-1 and earned third place in a tournament in Olathe. Team members are Sierra Dickson, Taylor Manning, Jennifer McCandless, Kelsey Leinmiller-Renick, Grace Hildebrand, Hillary Wehmeyer, Sydney Vogel, Katie Stols, Lauren Thames, Katlyn Green, Madison Dennis, Abby Mott, Alex Mott and Danielle Augustine. Coaches are Duane Dickson, Danny Manning and Dave Augustine.

¢ JGC Scores: Kent Beisner and Van Reichert each carded a 4-over-par 76 in Sunday’s Jayhawk Golf Club Tournament at Alvamar. Todd Chapple had a 77 and Tom Dennis shot 79. In net scoring, Jim Currier was low with a 69. Kent Hodgson and Randy Gebhards each recorded a 70, and Tim Grant posted a 71.

¢ Frisbee League: Sign-up for the Lawrence Ultimate Frisbee League will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Holcom Park soccer fields. League games will be Tuesday nights through Aug. 13. For information, call Ernie Hughes at 979-3738.

¢ Diving Champion: Kelly Marx of Team Jayhawk Diving won on the three-meter board and was second in the one-meter in the boys U-18 division of the U.S./Canada Challenge last weekend in Calgary. Logan Kline of TJD was seventh at three meters and 12th at one meter in the girls 14-15 competition.

¢ MadDogs Break Record: A KU MadDogs Running Club team of Jim Pottorff, William Eakin, Terry Slocum, Michael Greenfield and Jay Beckman was the overall winner of Saturday’s Olathe Marathon Relay in a record time of 2:54:09. The team of Jim Orr, Fred Van Vleck, Doug Houston, Charles Shelton and Dick Lipsey finished second in the male masters division. The MadDogs team of David Faurot, Ann Cudd, Bill Busby, Gerald Lushington and Wes Hubert finished seventh overall. Also, Scott Coston ran the solo marathon, finishing 21st overall in a time of 3:20:33.

¢ City Winners: Lawrence’s Karen Hyde and Dee Boeck won age-group titles in the One Hill of a Run 5K Saturday in Merriam. Wally Brawner of Tonganoxie was second in his age division.

¢ SJHS Camp: South Junior High basketball camp will run Tuesday through Friday. For information, call Scott Petry at 841-7581.

¢ Golden Signs: Lawrence High grad Alyssa Golden has signed a softball letter of intent with Coffeyville Community College. An outfielder-second baseman, Golden played three years for the Lions.
