Kansas volleyball headed to Brazil

Kansas University’s volleyball team will leave Monday for a 10-day trip to Brazil that will include four matches with club teams, training and community service.

The Jayhawks will split time between Rio De Janeiro and São Paulo. Included in the travel party of approximately 28 will be 15 student-athletes, coaches and support staff and KUAC administrators.

“A foreign trip is important to the student-athlete experience,” KU coach Ray Bechard said. “Not only will the team benefit from the competition, performance and training, but will also get an important cultural and educational experience as well.”

Three Jayhawks — Josi Lima (Sao Paulo), Paula Caten (Canarana) and Jana Correa (Macapa) — will be visiting their native country.
