Free State High School students celebrated the end of the school year with their annual prom May 7 at Abe & Jake's Landing in downtown Lawrence. About 430 people marked the special occasion. Most were dressed in tuxedos and ties or gowns and high heels with updos. Some chose more casual wear.

The dancing didn't stop until 1 a.m.
Prom colors were black and silver, and the theme was "Hanging By A Moment," which the newly crowned king and queen, Aaron Trent and Dulce Shultz, danced to.
