Kansas in 62nd place in Directors’ Cup

Kansas University’s athletic department stands in 62nd place overall and 10th in the Big 12 Conference in the most recent Sports Academy Directors’ Cup standings.

The Sports Academy Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.

The United States Sports Academy, based in Daphne, Ala., is the program sponsor. Points are awarded based on each institution’s finish in 10 men’s and 10 women’s sports.

Stanford ranks first, followed by Michigan and North Carollina.

Big 12 schools and their national rankings: Texas No. 5, Nebraska 17, Oklahoma 21, Colorado 28, Missouri 44, Texas A&M 48, Iowa State 55, Texas Tech 58, Baylor 59, Kansas 62, Kansas State 63 and Oklahoma State 66.

The next update will be June 2, with the final totals released June 29.
