Rain to continue through the day

The rain should last until tonight, possibly turning into thunderstorms in some areas.

6News meteorologist Tim Reith Tim Reith says that parts of Lawrence received over 3 inches of rain Thursday night and early Friday morning. “There may be breaks in the rain later, but the rain should continue all day, with even a small chance of thunderstorms,” he said.

The rain is expected to end tonight, although there may be fog on Saturday morning.

The storms have cooled the area, and the temperature at 8:45 was 60, with winds of 18 mph. Today’s high should be 70, and winds should drop to 5-10 mph. Tonight’s low may drop to 46.

Over the weekend, the skies should clear and leave Lawrence with partly sunny skies and mild temperatures. Saturday’s high will be 69, and Sunday’s high will be 70. Monday will start with average temperatures, possibly climbing later in the week.
