Seahawks prevail again

? Seabury Academy’s girls soccer team scored all its goals in the first half against the wind and defeated Englewood Christian Academy, 7-1, on Tuesday.

The Seahawks were led by Laura Frizell, who had three goals and an assist, and Katie Pottorff’s pair of goals. Also scoring were Erika Hierl and Regan Sisson — who each had an assist. Livia Shi added two assists, and Elise Stella had one.

Goalkeeper Lindsey Ahlen was cited for a save on a penalty kick by her coach.

“Facing the prospects of a play-in game for regionals, we still have work to do,” Seabury coach Gunar Harmon said. “I commend their effort given it was nearly 90 degrees outside. They did well playing in the heat.”

The victory was the fifth in a row for the Seahawks (6-3) and assured them their first winning season in school history.

Seabury will play host to Wichita Word of Life for Senior Night on Thursday at the Youth Sports Inc. fields.
