Jayhawks sixth at Big 12 meet

? Kansas University’s men’s golf team placed sixth of 12 teams at the Big 12 Conference championships, which concluded Sunday at Whispering Pines Golf Club.

The Jayhawks shot a 303 on Sunday for a three-day total of 910. Oklahoma State won after posting a score of 868.

“We had a good round going early, but we finished poorly,” KU coach Ross Randall said.

Senior Kevin Ward tied for 15th at 225, senior Andrew Price and sophomore Gary Woodland tied for 39th at 233, and junior Luke Trammel and sophomore Tyler Docking finished tied for 39th at 234.

KU will compete at the NCAA Central Regionals on May 19-21 in South Bend, Ind.
