Kansas golf takes second

? Kansas University’s men’s golf team settled for second place Tuesday after the final round of the Western Intercollegiate was rained out.

“We are very disappointed that we were rained out today,” KU coach Ross Randall said. “Second place is a very good finish, but we wanted the chance to take first in this tournament.”

The Jayhawks shot rounds of 295 and 289 on Monday for a total of 584. KU was two shots out of first place after Oregon posted a 582.

Senior Kevin Ward tied for third in medalist rankings with a 73-68–141.

Kansas will travel next week to a tournament in Holly Springs, N.C.
