Leonard James Peterson, Little River
LITTLE RIVER ? Services for Leonard James Peterson, 93, De Soto, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Congregational Church in Little River. Burial will be in Geneseo Cemetery, Geneseo.
Mr. Peterson died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 24, 1911, in Fairchild, Wis., the son of John F. and Olava Melom Peterson. He graduated from public school in Fairchild and Eau Claire Business College in Wisconsin.
Mr. Peterson was an accountant and worked mainly with wholesale bakeries. He also was a field agent for the Internal Revenue Service and retired in 1972. He formerly lived at Drury Place in Lawrence.
He married Doris Elizabeth Briggs on June 4, 1939, in Eau Claire, Wis. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Jaynelle Griffitt, Olathe; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Karen Griffitt, died in 1969.
