The March meeting of Kanwaka 4-H Club was called to order by Amber Budenbender, president. Members sang “If You’re Happy and You Know It.”
Members answered roll call by telling who they thought would win the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Douglas County Friendship Night will be April 2 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. Admission will be two cans of food. The club will help the County 4-H Council served the Lawrence Interdenominational Nutrition Kitchen meal April 30.
The club will participate in Relay for Life June 7 at Free State High school.
Members were told 4-H camp would be June 28-July 1. Forms may be picked up at the Extension office. Club members who participated in the model meeting competition during Regional 4-H Day were recognized. They received their purple ribbons.
Jennifer Crawford gave a reading titled “Speek.” Curtis Wakeman showed members how to make wooden pens as part of his woodworking project.
Refreshments were served by the Rainey and Crawford families.
The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. April 11 at Kanwaka Hall.
