Miller scores 25,000th point
Pacers standout 13th player to reach milestone
Indianapolis ? Reggie Miller still is scoring points and setting standards. All he wants now are wins.
Miller continued his late-season resurgence Wednesday night, scoring 21 points and becoming the 13th player in league history to top 25,000 career points as he led the short-handed Pacers past San Antonio, 100-93.
“It’s a nice accomplishment, obviously, to do it in front of the home crowd,” Miller said. “But more importantly, it keeps us in the playoff hunt.”
The victory helped Indiana stay ahead of Philadelphia, Orlando and New Jersey — all of whom are battling for the final two playoff spots in the Eastern Conference.
But Miller, who is retiring after this season, has seemingly turned back the clock since All-Star forward Jermaine O’Neal went down because of a sprained right shoulder March 3. Again, Miller has become a major scorer, a key leader, and Wednesday, he also received some help.
Austin Croshere scored 18 points and had four rebounds in his second straight start. Miller and Croshere carried the Pacers (34-33) during the first half when San Antonio stayed close, and Stephen Jackson scored 14 of his 18 points in the second half when the Pacers pulled away. Anthony Johnson also had 18 points, and Jeff Foster finished with 15 rebounds.
It was the kind of performance the Pacers needed with three players missing from the lineup — O’Neal (shoulder), Jamaal Tinsley (foot) and Fred Jones who was sick.
Clippers 116, Bucks 108
Los Angeles — Corey Maggette scored 34 points, and Los Angeles sent Milwaukee to its seventh straight road loss. Elton Brand had 24 points.

Indiana's Reggie Miller, left, is fouled by San Antonio's Bruce Bowen. Miller scored 21 points to reach 25,000 for his career in the Pacers' 100-93 victory Wednesday night in Indianapolis.
Mavericks 109, Warriors 97
Oakland, Calif. — Dirk Nowitzki had 29 points and 10 rebounds, and Keith Van Horn scored 24 points in Dallas’ fourth straight victory. Nowitzki also traded shoves with Baron Davis and Jason Richardson in the contest, which included 12 technical fouls.
Knicks 107, Celtics 82
New York — In a game that featured seven technical fouls and a flagrant foul in the first half, New York made one of the NBA’s hottest teams look rather ordinary.
Bulls 94, Raptors 85
Toronto — Eddy Curry scored 16 points, and Chicago defeated Toronto for the eighth straight time. Rookie Andres Nocioni added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Bulls, who have won three straight.
Timberwolves 107, Hornets 102
Minneapolis — Kevin Garnett had 24 points and 13 rebounds, and Eddie Griffin came up with some key plays down the stretch to help Minnesota hold off New Orleans. Griffin had 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Timberwolves.
76ers 107, Pistons 84
Philadelphia — Allen Iverson toyed with Detroit’s unusually anemic defense, finishing with 39 points and 10 assists in Philadelphia’s victory over the Pistons. Andre Iguodala had with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. It was the first triple-double by a rookie since former Kansas University player Kirk Hinrich did it Feb. 28, 2004.
Suns 120, Bobcats 105
Charlotte, N.C. — Shawn Marion had 26 points and 10 rebounds to help Phoenix win a franchise record 28th road victory by beating Charlotte. The Suns are 28-7 on the road.
