Seattle gallery to feature Lawrence artists’ work

Lawrence artists Steve Goddard, Katherine Dessert and Dave Loewenstein have been chosen to show their work in the “Paper Politics” exhibition April 1-29 at the Phinney Center Gallery in Seattle.

The exhibit will showcase print art that uses themes of social justice and global equity to engage members in political conversation. Because of its accessibility and reproducibility, print art has long been used by activists as a communication tool in struggles for freedom and social equality. The bold graphic qualities made possible by printmaking techniques are used to communicate with broad audiences all over the world.

Goddard is curator of prints and drawings at the Spencer Museum of Art. Katherine Dessert is an art student at Kansas University. Loewenstein is a muralist.
