Book notes

Authors to discuss sustainable living

John Ivanko and Lisa Kivirist, authors of “Rural Renaissance: Renewing the Quest for the Good Life,” will share their experiences and expertise in sustainable living in a program called “Green Acres, Green Living” at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vt.

A few years ago, Ivanko and Kivirist left the Chicago advertising industry, bought a farm in Wisconsin, opened a bed and breakfast, and set about learning how to live a more sustainable and eco-friendly life closer to the land. Their book offers advice and instructions on organic gardening, raising chickens, blending work and leisure and leaving biological legacies.

Copies of the couple’s book will be available for sale.
