Taylor-Ling

Hilary Taylor and Gwo-Huey Ling, both of London, were married Sept. 6, 2004, in Morpeth Northumberland, United Kingdom, with D. Arkely officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. James and Thelma Taylor, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Man-Sing and Sau-Ying Ling, London.

Maid of honor was Monique Van Wierst. Best man was Adrian Ling. Mark Taylor was guestbook attendant.

A reception was given in Morpeth Northumberland.

The bride is a 1990 graduate of Lawrence High School. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in interior design from the Fashion Institute of Technology and Design in New York. She is employed by Aukett Ltd., an architectural and design firm.

The groom is a 1990 graduate of Christ’s College Secondary School in London. He received a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering and a master’s degree in microwave and optoelectronic engineering from the University College London. He is a computer network architect at Middlesex University.

The couple reside in London.

Gwaltney-Laffoon

Gretchen Gwaltney, Richland, Wash., and Gary Laffoon, Dallas, were married Sept. 26, 2004, in Loose Park Rose Garden in Kansas City, Mo., with the Rev. Charles H. Smith, Lawrence, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Linda Gwaltney, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Allen and Sue Laffoon, Jefferson City, Mo.

Bridesmaids were Kris Berg, Alison Crouch, Rikki Endsley, Darcie Rawlings and Eliza Lane. Best man was Bret Watson. Groomsmen were Mitch Kitrel, Tom Norrid, Colby Tanner and Craig Morgan.

Flower girl was Madeline Brown. Special assistants were Molly Crouch and Jenna Gwaltney.

A champagne luncheon was given at The Villa in Kansas City, Mo.

The bride is a Lawrence High School graduate. She attended Kansas University. She is director of economic development for the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce.

The groom is a graduate of Sikeston High School, Sikeston, Mo. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in communications from Southwest Missouri State University. He is a real estate manager for Wal-Mart Distribution Centers at the home office.

The couple reside in Cave Springs, Ark.

Spencer-Overstreet

Karen Annette Spencer, Springfield, Mo., and Mark Lance Overstreet, Nixa, Mo., were married Nov. 6, 2004, in Springfield, Mo., with Cal Spencer officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Cal and Shirley Spencer, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Lance and Marilyn Overstreet, Boonville, Mo.

Bridesmaids were Megan Laurent, Carie Kite, Amy Swearingin and Kelly Spencer. Best man was Clay Hanna. Groomsmen were Tyler Overstreet, Joel Overstreet and Christian Overstreet.
