Valley Falls ? Services for Shirley J. Gardner, 70, Valley Falls, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will be in Valley Falls Cemetery.
Mrs. Gardner died Friday, March 18, 2005, at her home.
She was born May 20, 1934, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of James R. and Gladys Detrick Thomas. She graduated from high school in Kansas City, Kan. She lived in Valley Falls for 34 years.
Mrs. Gardner was a homemaker.
She married Joseph H. Gardner Sr., on May 17, 1952, in Kansas City, Kan. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include three sons, Joseph H. Gardner Jr., Valley Falls, and James R. Gardner and Larry G. Gardner, both of Springfield, Mo.; two daughters, Linda Sue Kerr and Shirley J. Leach, both of Lawrence; two brothers, James R. Thomas, Paola, and Frank Nelson Thomas, Baldwin; a sister, JoAnn Smith, Omaha, Neb.; and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
