West Lafayette, Ind. ? Kansas University senior Amy Gruber placed 18th on Friday in the 100 butterfly at the NCAA Swimming Championships. Gruber finished in a time of 54.07. Also Friday, KU sophomore Jenny Short placed 36th in the 100 backstroke in 55.90. Both will compete at the event’s final day today. Gruber will swim the 100 freestyle, and Short will swim the 200 backstroke.
