Julia “Judy’ M. Neis, Eudora

Mrs. Neis died Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Eudora Nursing Center.

She was born June 13, 1937, in Ottawa, the daughter of Charles and Dorothy Evans Scothorne Sluder.

Mrs. Neis was a registered nurse working at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Colonial Manor and the office of Dr. George Learned in Lawrence. She was a school nurse in Eudora from 1972 to 1993. She also worked at Eudora Nursing Center. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ.

She married Charles Neis on July 21, 1963, in McLouth. He survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Neis, Eudora; and a brother, Robert Sluder, Snellville, Ga.

A daughter, Stacie Neis, died April 11, 2003.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary’s Eudora Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today.

The family suggests memorials to the church or Eudora Nursing Center, sent in care of the chapel, 1003 John L. Williams Drive, Eudora 66025.
