Authorities seeking information on K-10 shooting

Local authorities were seeking information this afternoon about an overnight shooting on Kansas 10 Highway east of Lawrence.

One person was wounded early this morning when shots were fired into a vehicle traveling on K-10 west of Eudora, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.

About 3 a.m. a vehicle with several occupants from the Kansas City metropolitan area was eastbound on the highway when a second vehicle with the gunman in it approached, firing the shots. The suspect car continued eastbound.

The victim, who was not identified, was taken to a Kansas City area hospital. The wounds were not believed to be life-threatening, a news release from the sheriff’s office said.

The vehicle carrying the gunman was a dark-colored vehicle, possibly bearing Missouri license plates.
