Air Force Airmen Jennifer Nickell, Kalene Gast and Neah Howard have graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

During the six weeks of training, the airmen studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.

In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate’s degree.

Nickell, a 2002 Lawrence High School graduate, is the daughter of Richard and Marsha Nickell, Lawrence.

Gast, a 2004 Basehor-Linwood High School graduate, is the daughter of Fran and Louis Gast, Linwood.

Howard, a 2004 De Soto High School graduate, is the daughter of Linda and James Howard, De Soto.

Army Pvt. Kristopher Fisher has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Ky.

During the nine-week training period, the trainee received instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons, rifle marksmanship and bayonet training, chemical warfare, field training and tactical exercises, armed and unarmed combat, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, traditions, and core values.

Fisher, a 2002 Wellsville High School graduate, is the son of Daryl Fisher, Wellsville.
