‘Slum’ exists
To the editor:
Commissioner Boog Highberger’s comment regarding, “Not wanting to surround the jail with low-cost housing that may become a slum,” rings hollow because the commissioner seems oblivious to surrounding the downtown business area with over 4,000 student rental houses in single-family zoned neighborhoods that (declining numbers of) homeowners already consider to be a “slum.”
