Baylor, KSU each prevail
Kansas City, Mo. ? Chelsea Whitaker’s layup with 2.1 seconds to go lifted top-seeded Baylor over Texas Tech, 58-57, Thursday night in the semifinals of the Big 12 Conference tournament.
Sophia Young had 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead Baylor (26-3), which will face Kansas State in Saturday’s championship game. Steffanie Blackmon finished with 15 points, and Whitaker added 12.
Latoya Davis scored 18 points for Texas Tech (22-7), which lost to Baylor for the third time this season.
Cisti Greenwalt, Texas Tech’s leading scorer, picked up her third personal foul midway through the first half and never got out of foul trouble, finishing with just three points.

Kansas City, Mo. — Twiggy McIntyre scored a career-high 19 points, and Kansas State hung on to beat Texas.
Kendra Wecker finished with 17 points for the Wildcats (23-6), who outscored Texas 14-4 during the final four minutes. Brie Madden added 14 points, and Megan Mahoney had 11.
Tiffany Jackson had 24 points and nine rebounds for Texas (21-8), which never has beaten Kansas State in the Big 12 tournament.
Jamie Carey hit four three-pointers and finished with 19 points.
