Ladies Golf Meeting: Alvamar Ladies 9-Hole Golf Club’s spring meeting will be a 9 a.m. Saturday at the Alvamar public course clubhouse.

Track Medalists: Lawrence’s Bridgette Berry and Alexa Harmon-Thomas won three medals apiece at the MidAmerica Winter track championships Feb. 27 in Lincoln, Neb. In the U-10 division, Berry won the U-10 long jump and 60-meter dash, and was second in the 200 while Harmon-Thomas won the 200 and finished second in the 60 and the long jump.

Money Needed: Lawrence’s Prairie Fire Wrestling Club is seeking funds to send 12 of its members to the national girls championships April 8 in San Diego. The club has raised $8,000 of the $12,000 needed. For information, call 832-1288.

Aqauhawks Winners: Sarah Clark, Mitch Moore and Reilly Moore of the Lawrence Aquahawks all won four gold medals at a Division II swim meet Feb. 25-27 at the Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center. Triple winners were Tony Libeer, Anne Reed-Weston and Eric Sparks. Cameron Case, Reese Grabill and Sarah Schwartz won two events apiece. Single winners were Adriane Black, Bailey Carlson, Ethan Fisher, Nolan Frank, Kristen Karlin, Katie Sloan and Adam Winter.

Jayhawks Champs: Sport 2 Sport Jayhawks seventh grade boys basketball team won the MAYB tournament last weekend in Lawrence. Team members are Scott Brenn, Drake DeBiasse, Michael McCabe, Chase McElhaney, Nick Hassig, Mark Laskowski, Ryan Scott and Coulter Vestal.

Catbackers Gather: Lawrence Area Catbackers will gather at 6 p.m. today at Conroy’s Tavern (formerly Kaspar’s), 3115 W. Sixth St., to watch the Kansas State men’s and women’s basketball teams play at the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City, Mo. The men will play at 6 p.m. and the women at 8:30 p.m.

Wrestling Gold: Devon Rosebaugh, Dylan Housworth, Amanda Morris, Trey Jimboy and Deidre Housworth of Prairie Fire Wrestling Club won gold medals at the PFWC Invitational on Sunday. Dusty Morris and Jacob Rosebaugh earned second places. Brittany Brown had a third. Fourths went to Adrian Staab and Riley Buller.

Flames Champs: Sport 2 Sport eighth-grade Flames won the Feb. 24-27 K.C. Keys basketball tournament. Gymnastics Gold: Abby Jones, a Lawrence High sophomore, won the Level 9 all-around gymnastics competition at the Phillips Conoco Invitational in Bartlesville, Okla.
