Opal E. Coffman, Overbrook

Mrs. Coffman died Monday, March 7, 2005, at St. Joseph Health Care Center.

She was born Dec. 14, 1917, in Carbondale, the daughter of William and Dora McFarland Land.

Mrs. Coffman was a homemaker and a superintendent of dormitories at Kansas University. She was a member of Overbrook United Methodist Church, a charter member of Fidelis Club and an active leader in North Osage 4-H Club. She was involved with youth square dancing, the Overbrook Library and Community Betterment.

She married Perry Coffman. He died in January 1995.

Survivors include a son, Larry Coffman, St. Joseph, Mo.; a daughter, Nancy Supple, Topeka; two sisters, Edna Bean, Los Angeles, and Dolores Jenkins, Phoenix; and five grandchildren.
