Edward E. ‘Ed’ Pavelac, Oskaloosa

? Services for Edward E. “Ed” Pavelac, 68, Oskaloosa, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery northwest of Oskaloosa.

Mr. Pavelac died Wednesday, March 9, 2005, in Topeka.

He was born May 1, 1936, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Steve Bernard and Helen Frances Stipp Pavelac. He lived in Oskaloosa for many years.

Mr. Pavelac was an accounting manager for Santa Fe Railroad in Topeka and Amarillo, Texas, for 36 years and retired in 1989. He owned and operated Hometown Tire and Service in Oskaloosa for 12 years. He was a member of First Ward Church of Latter Day Saints in Lawrence. He also volunteered as a Pee Wee baseball coach in Oskaloosa for many years.

He married Carolyn Ruth Smith on June 7, 1957, in Kansas City, Kan. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, David, Murphy, Texas, and Dan, Oskaloosa; two brothers, Steve and Raymond, both of Kansas City, Kan.; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
