Clarence Irl Hart, Topeka

? Services for Clarence Irl Hart, 82, Topeka, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in Topeka, with military honors afterward. Private burial will be in Zion Cemetery.

Mr. Hart died Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.

He was born Feb. 14, 1923, in Perry, the son of Arthur O. and Lydia K. Armstrong Hart.

Mr. Hart served in the U.S. Army for six years during World War II. He was on Omaha Beach, Normandy, on D-Day Plus One and served in the Korean War. He retired from the Kansas Army National Guard after more than 30 years. He was a life member of American Legion Perry Post No. 142, Veterans of Foreign Wars Philip Billard Post No. 1650, Museum of Kansas National Guard, Kansas National Guard Enlisted Assn. and Tecumseh United Methodist Church.

He married Wilma Eugenia Gantz on May 10, 1947, in Lawrence. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Shelli Lu Reid, Tecumseh; a son, Stanley Lyle, of Carbondale; and four grandchildren.

A daughter, Sarah Lynn Blessing, died May 7, 1992.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today.
