Ruth Sarah Larsen, Lawrence

Services for Ruth Sarah Larsen, 86, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be at noon Saturday in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons.

Mrs. Larsen died Monday, March 7, 2005, at her home.

She was born Oct. 4, 1918, in Craig County, Okla., the daughter of Eddie C. and Edith A. LaDuke High. She graduated from high school in Welch, Okla., and from Parsons Business University. She lived in Norfolk, Va., and Jacksonville, Fla., before moving to Lawrence in 1947.

Mrs. Larsen was a homemaker. She was employed as a secretary to the assistant auditor of MKT Railroad in Parsons. She worked in the office of Social and Rehabilitation Services as a bookkeeper and retired in 1983.

She was a member of First Christian Church and Christian Women’s Fellowship.

She married Neil C. Larsen on Sept. 30, 1944, in Parsons. He survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Brenda A. Larsen, Kansas City, Mo.; and two sons, Stephen D. Larsen, Shawnee, and Carl D. Larsen, Topeka.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour Friday at the mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of the mortuary.
