KU men’s golf fourth at Louisiana tourney

? Kansas University’s men’s golf squad placed fourth after the final round Tuesday of the 15-team Louisiana Classics Invitational at Oakbourne Country Club.

KU shot a final-round score of 294 for a two-round total of 586 on the par-72 course. Despite the high finish, KU coach Ross Randall said there was room for improvement.

“We didn’t play like we are capable of as a team,” Randall said. “Hopefully, we can practice and improve before our next tournament.”

Sophomore Tyler Docking was the top KU finisher individually, placing second after posting a two-round score of 142. Senior Andrew Price and sophomore Gary Woodland each tied for 18th place after scores of 148, junior Pete Krsnich tied for 26th (149), and senior Kevin Ward tied for 56th (155).

Southern Methodist won the team title after carding a team score of 582.

KU will return to action March 21-22 at the Stevinson Ranch Intercollegiate in Stevinson, Calif.
