Lawrence Alva Hetrick, Topeka
Topeka ? Services for Lawrence Alva Hetrick, 76, Tecumseh, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel in Topeka. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Berryton, with military honors by a U.S. Army unit from Fort Riley.
Mr. Hetrick died Monday, March 7, 2005, at his home.
He was born Aug. 15, 1928, in Quenemo, the son of Carl Alva and Dora Pearl Morrow Hetrick.
Mr. Hetrick served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for several construction companies in the Topeka area and for the Shawnee Heights school district. He was a member of Local Carpenters Union No. 1445 and Tecumseh United Methodist Church.
He married Cheryl J. Thornbrugh on July 15, 1956, in Williamsburg. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Dennis, Lawrence, and David, Topeka; a brother, Fred, Berryton; five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Hetrick Memorial Fund, sent in care of the funeral home, 2843 S.E. Minnesota Ave., Topeka 66605.
