Thunderstorms rolling through Lawrence
Isolated heavy showers were breaking up what had been a mild, warm day as thunderstorms rolled this afternoon through Lawrence.
Matt Sayers, 6News meteorologist, said the storms were expected to move across Douglas County through 4 p.m.
They were bringing brief periods of heavy rain and gusty winds. The National Weather Service said they could bring gusts as high as 25 to 35 mph and hail.
At 3:42 p.m., Lawrence’s downtown temperature was 64 degrees.
Overnight, the low will drop to 36 by early Friday morning. Skies will be mostly clear, with a high reaching 66 Friday afternoon.
Saturday’s morning low will be 33, with the high reaching 52.
