Search for kidnapped KC teen turns to Lawrence

Investigators on the trail of a kidnapped 17-year-old girl were seeking clues in Lawrence today.

Police said Jerin D. Bahlmann, 17, was kidnapped at 6:48 a.m. today from her home in the 200 block of South Ferree in Kansas City, Kan.

Lawrence Police Sgt. Dan Ward said officers here had been alerted about the abduction. Bahlmann’s cell phone is transmitting signals from the Lawrence area, he said this morning.

Kansas City, Kan. Police Officer Mary Solem said witnesses told officers that two Hispanic men went to Bahlmann’s home. After a struggle with her and her family, the men forced Bahlmann from the home, into a green Mustang and fled the area.

Bahlmann is 5 feet 7 inches, has blonde hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink T-shirt and blue jeans.

One of the suspects goes by the name “Eric.” He is 25 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 160 pounds and has black hair, green eyes, a mustache and a goatee. The second man was described as being 24 to 26 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall, about 140 pounds, bald with a tattoo on the back of his neck and wearing a white T-shirt.

The suspects drove off with Bahlmann in a green two-door 2000 Ford Mustang. The car has a Kansas tag — VSS 117 — and there is a “cobra” decal in the back window of the vehicle.
