Tonganoxie rallies, but falls to Bonner

? Even when it found an offensive groove in a 20-point fourth quarter, the Tonganoxie High boys basketball team still could not come all the way back against Bonner Springs.

The Chieftains ended their season with a 68-50 setback in the first round of sub-state Monday night.

Tongie finished with a 6-15 record.

“We had great opportunities. We just weren’t finishing on those opportunities,” Tonganoxie coach David Walker said of his team’s close looks on offense early on.

Tonganoxie didn’t help itself at the free-throw line, either, going 7-of-20.
