Jack A. Williams Sr., Bonner Springs

? Services for Jack A. Williams Sr., 67, Basehor, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Elm Grove Baptist Church in Bonner Springs. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Basehor.

Mr. Williams died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.

He was born June 28, 1937, in Mildred, the son of John L. and Gladys M. Robb Williams.

Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1959. He owned Star Realty and Williams Insurance Co. in Basehor. He was a licensed insurance agent for 30 years and a Realtor for 15 years. He worked for Owens-Corning Corp. and Central Air Charter, both in Kansas City, Kan. He was a jet engine mechanic and a private pilot with a commercial rating.

He was a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a founder and board member of the Chamber of Commerce in Basehor. He was a former member of Kiwanis International and the Library Board, both in Basehor. He also was a member of the 24-40 Highway Committee.

He married Virginia Tinker on Feb. 27, 1960, in Quanah, Texas. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Jack “J.R.” Jr. and Timothy W., both of Basehor; a daughter, Sabrina Williams, Shawnee; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Quisenberry Funeral Home in Tonganoxie.
