It's a tradition at LHS for the women to prepare a lunch at the end of the second semester for the men; the men prepare a breakfast for the women at the end of the first semester.

Twelve Lawrence High School and Free State High School students, accompanied by German teachers Friedemann and Edwina Eisert, left for Eutin, Germany, on May 27 as part of the Sister Cities program. They are scheduled to return July 2. Sammy Cope, right, state regent for the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, installed new officers for the Betty Washington chapter. Some of the new officers are, from left, Nancy Helmstadter, historian; Geraldine Livers, registrar; Stacy Cope, treasurer; Patricia Koehler, chaplain; Mary Lynn Stuart, vice regent; and Mary Burchill, regent. The officers were installed during the chapter's May 21 meeting at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
