Raiders rout pair of foes
Travis Blankenship and Grant Meisenheimer made an early four-run lead stand up, helping the Lawrence Raiders earn a 5-3 victory Friday over Lincoln, Neb.
The two hurlers combined to strike out nine batters while allowing just four hits in seven innings at Free State Field.
The Raiders scored four runs in the first on five hits, with Cory Cooper and Matt Falk each contributing RBI singles.
Lawrence earlier defeated Shawnee Mission South, 10-0, in four innings. Max Ellenbecker pitched a complete-game one-hitter.
The Raiders will play Manhattan at 8 tonight at Free State.
