Warm and dry start to Wakarusa Fest

The weather looks great for the Wakarusa Festival this weekend.

6News meteorologist Jennifer Schack said, “It won’t be like yesterday’s all-sunshine, all-day, but we’ll keep it dry with highs in the mid 80’s.”

A line of thunderstorms spread across central and southern Kansas last night. Lawrence skirted the edge of the storms, which brought a few sprinkles in the early morning hours.

At 8:30 a.m., Lawrence had temperatures of 71, with 76% humidity and east-southeast winds of 5 mph. The region was one of the warmest spots in Kansas this morning.

The high today should be 83, with southeasterly winds of 5-10 mph. 63 will be the overnight low, and tomorrow should be 85 and sunny. Temperatures will climb over the weekend into the 90’s to start next week.
