¢ Bradfield Hole-in-One: Sue Bradfield used a 3-wood to ace the 130-yard No. 7 hole at Alvamar Golf Course. Witnesses were Bill Steiner and Jack Van Lean.
¢ Denver Soccer Champs: Kaw Valley Force U-13 White boys soccer won the Real Colorado tournament in Denver. Team members are Tyler Jordan, Jake Shafer, Daniel Chance, Ethan Morton-Gaught, Drake DeBiasse, Tor Fornelli, Jesse Clayton, John Davies, John Mehl, Kendall Gooden, Mason Bertrand, Logan Sloan, Robert Abondano, Derek Roush, Hunter Blair and Gabe Ballard-Hanson. Coaches are Mauro Nobre and Kyle Glick.
¢ Golden Oldies Tourney: Deadline for entries is June 27 for the Golden Oldies Four-Man Scramble golf tournament June 29 at Eagle Bend. Anyone 60 and over is eligible. For information, call Ted Coulter at 842-6876.
¢ Cyclist Shines: Brian Jensen of Lawrence finished third overall and was the No. 1 amateur at the Nature Valley (Minn.) Grand Prix, one of the 15 top cycling stage races in the country. Jensen races for HRRC/Saddlewood Bikesource Specialized.
¢ Three Berry Golds: Bridgette Berry of Lawrence won gold medals in the U-10 long jump, high jump and 100 at the Missouri AAU championships. Lawrence’s Alexa Harmon-Thomas won the 100 in the U-9 division.
¢ KVSA Tryouts: Kaw Valley Soccer Assn. will hold tryouts for its youth premier teams today through Saturday, June 22-25 and July 6-9. For information, visit www.kawvalleysoccer.com or call 749-5872.
¢ LAGA Tourney Deadline: Early entry deadline is July 5 for the Lawrence Amateur Golf Assn. championship July 9-10 at Alvamar and Eagle Bend golf courses. ¢ Ferguson First: Dan Ferguson of Lawrence was the overall male winner in the Miracle Run 5K Saturday in Shawnee. Lawrence’s Jodie Smith led the female ages 20-24 division and Karen Hyde was second in the 40-44 female compiliations. Wally Brawner of Tonganoxie won the men’s 65-69 division.
¢ Phenix Champs: Lawrence Phenix Hamilton softball went 4-0 at a rain-shortened weekend tournament in Chapman. Team members are Brynn Hamilton, Alissa Hamilton, Kristal Holland, Kristine Harrell, Lauren Peel, Danielle Torres, Amy Bullerman, Samantha Hays, Whitney Juneau, Sarah Flaherty, Carrisa Art, Cindy Rupp and Katie Stanyon. Coaches are John Hamilton and Tom Harrell.
¢ MadDogs Shine: Lindy Eakin of KU MadDogs Running Club placed third overall in Saturday’s Tonganoxie Days Library Run. The club’s Terry Slocum finished second in the 5K. Also Saturday, Scott Coston finished third in the 40-49 age group at the Mosquito Meander 5K in Fairbanks, Alaska, and Cheryl Miller-Balster was the fourth woman finisher in the Kettle Moraine 100-Mile Run in Wisconsin.
