Today will continue the week’s trend of clear skies and pleasant weather.

“It’s a beautiful start to the day,” 6News meteorologist Jennifer Schack said. “Sunshine on Mass. Street and not as breezy as yesterday.”

At 8:45 a.m., temperatures in Lawrence were 67, with 81 percent humdity and a light breeze from the northwest of 5 mph.

Storm systems may develop to the southwest, bringing “showers and thunderstorms sliding to the southeast of Kansas,” Schack said. “This gives us the smallest chance of rain overnight.”

However, she does not expect the area to see any rain tonight or the rest of the week. A few clouds may be in the sky on Thursday and into the weekend, which will help keep temperatures from reaching the 90s.

Overnight low should be 62, with mid to high 80s through the weekend.
